Bus drivers are of course generally pretty difficult with everyone and the drivers of large cheap cars, like the Chrysler 300C/Bentley copy can also be generally relied upon to employ bully boy tactics – whereas real Bentley owners and even the odd Range Rover driver are normally pretty accommodating. After long consideration I think I’ve decided it’s all equivalent to playing Top Trumps – people who have got themselves a nice car and are visibly doing well in life, at the top of the greasy pole you might say, don’t like to be reminded they could have tried harder!

The reaction of these other road users, particularly the aggressive ones, is, I think, one of the very best things about owning one of these lovely cars. If it helps put a few people back in their box: how can that be such a bad thing, whatever the fuel economy? Obviously I also need to apologise in advance to anyone who knows me who has one of the aforementioned brands – my comments aren’t levelled at them I’m sure, unless they know differently how they react!
